  Very briefly, I was attempting to purchase a home where the seller was indecisive about signing off on the final papers. I brought a check, in the full asking amount, to First American Title to close the deal and show good faith. At the time I submitted the check I was assured, SEVERAL TIMES, any time I wanted to cancel the deal, I could have the check back instantly. But, the seller did not sign off on the house until after several days when I had gone to First American Title to retrieve my check. I was beyond disgusted with the deal. When I asked for the check back I was stunned to be told I couldn't have it until the seller released it!! I could not get the house and I could not get the check!! I had to go to an attorney who managed to get my check for me. I am bitterly disappointed in First American Title and I will pursue their business practice based lies and fraud in my experience.
